TKG14 Don't Cross This Line/05

In Book 14, Don't Cross This Line, around pg 52, there is a reference by one of the minor characters in the book, Theodore "Ted" Jameson, a New York City cop, about a series of incidents he had been active in several years before. He had come to expect vampire "justice" whenever she'd shown up in town. This was in a conversation with Tabitha, when he met her concerning an incident in the book. Here is the first part of the conversation: “Tabitha, what the hell is wrong with you?” he asked, exasperated. Since meeting her two years before when a lot of justice came calling in New York, by a woman vigilante no less, Detective Theodore ‘Ted’ Jameson had both looked forward to seeing Tabitha, and dreaded it at the same time. One can only assume that, as Bethany Anne was not present in the earlier incidents, the Vigilante could only have been Tabitha, Might be presumed to be the woman vigilante referred to in Don't Cross This Line.

Known in this series, on High Tortuga, as Ranger Two. Barnabas blames her for AI Shinigami's attitude - smart-ass remarks, taunting, questioning - all Tabitha's fault, because that's what she taught Shinigami when she owned/used the ship. The problem is, it was Bethaby anne, as Baba Yaga, who had the most influence on Shinigami, not Tabitha.

DW01 Beyond The Frontiers/02

Tabitha's story. Born in Buenos Aires, a street kid, a hacker on the qwrong side od someone powerful, so hid to keep her family safe. I wasn’t always a warrior. I didn’t come from a family who knew about that stuff. When one of my comrades died, I didn’t know how to handle it. “You see, it’s easy to get lost in ourselves when we lose someone. I nearly lost myself. I don’t want you to make the same mistake.”

DW01 Beyond The Frontiers/03

The Tontos and Tabitha fighting Skaines, who went wild. Shin killed by debris caused by lack of gravity during fight. “When I came back, I was in a black hole of grief. The rest of my friends, my Tontos, supported me as best they could, but how do you get support from five Japanese vampires who’ve seen centuries of life when you are less than fifty years old yourself? I was such a baby then.” She had gotten lots of advice, but none of that advice had helped at all. To lose someone so suddenly was something that the mind couldn’t make sense of, and grief wasn’t something that followed any rules about how to behave. Nothing Tabitha could say would make things better for Angie. The first thing we have to learn is to be patient with ourselves.
