SWORDS

Swords have been used in battle practically since knives were invented. For close-in fighting, one-on-one activities. As sword-fighting became an art, different stype/design/types of swords were used for different reasons. Bethany Anne used three types of swords for her adventures, each for a different reason. Katana Sword, ancient, Oriental

TKG05 Never Forsaken/14

A killing weapon. Supposed to be able to differentiate between someone deserving of death and one who isn't. Long sword used for vamps, weres, Nosferatu Saya, the name for its sheath. Given to Bethany Anne by Stephen (TKG 05/14). Special, sharp, balanced, ancient Japanese.

Etheric Sword

TKG21 Life Goes On/03

Jean Dukes had begun to channeled some of the Etheric Energy down into Bethany Anne's swords, through Bethany Anne's connection with the Etheric. Started glowing and elongating. Much more destructive for energy expended by human. Can melt stone.


SWORDS WITH NAMES

Humans many times try to personalize their belongings, and this was many times true of swords. Swords with names, in the various series, were:

Sword of St.Rodrik Jeweled, special powers

THMC01 Shades of Light/01

Named the Sword of Light. The sword that was lost over 100 years ago, that Saint Roderick had used to fight off the creatures of Madness who lived on the islands to their West, on the attack on their land, Saie Talem. Jade hilt. jeweled, blade said to have a green glow in battle when blessed, because held special connection Saint Rodrick. Paladins' swords, also jeweled, as jewels will glow with power (gold/white light only, not green) when blessed before going into battle . Swords get heavier in battle, with power of their belief. (Not magic, "religious powers for good." )


Wickedbane

Daeken Zee Walton (Ancestor of Terry Henry Walton) owned a sword named Wickedbane, which he described as "singing the Song of Mercy followed by the Thwack of Justice."
