Chapter 01
John receives a phone call from Frank Kurns that John's cousin Cheryl Lynn, as having major problems dealing with her about to be ex, Mark Lindell. As John had been fighting the Forsaken for a couple of years he had not been able to handle personal/family problems as he should, and he felt guilty. John wanted to talk with his boss, Bethany Anne, to discuss the situation with her, certain she would have a way of taking care of it. Bethany Anne decided to go along with John, to help out.
Chapter 02
Cheryl Lynn touched her bruised eye, and flinched. It hurt as bad as it looked. She had been followed home, after shopping for dinner, by two street toughs, and still had four blocks to go, when a third man approached from the front.S he lashed out, managed to kick and hit enough to get away with a black eye, as one of them shouted after her, “Mark sends his regards!” They had been instructed to "Leave her crawling.") On reaching home, she called out for pizza, and when the doorbell rang, Todd went to the door. Cheryl didn’t trust to fate, and went to the door with a knife in hand, to find her cousin, little John. Bethany Anne was paying off the pizza guy, and buying more. John gave the knife to Todd to take back to the kitchen, and he and Cheryl talked in private while Bethany Anne watched the kids
Chapter 03
Cheryl reviewed the situation. She had just been one more notch for Mark. She had tried to reconcile, but Mark wasn’t interested. After the P.I. told her for the fourth time, she realized she hadn’t been honest with herself, as hiding was easier than doing what was needed. Mark told her she could leave that night, and the kids could stay with whom they wished. They all chose to leave. . Mark cancelled all of her Credit Cards, and closed all of the bank accounts. “Little” John consoled her about Mark, that he would rue the day he mistreated her, and asked her what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted somewhere that kids will be safe.
Chapter 04
Toughies report in to Mark, and that they will go back that night to finish the job. What about the kids? “I don’t care,” was the reply.
Chapter 05
John asks her again what she wants to do. “I want to leave and go somewhere that prick can’t find me or the kids. And the kids deserve half of the assets. “ John nods, then requests that the three of them pack, to move to a safer location. He will stay there that night, visit Mark in the morning. Will find accomplices to Mark’s efforts, bring signed affidavits from Mark, then he can back off or fight in court. Cheryl Lynn choses to stay there that night, so John and Bethany Anne armor up for what might prove to be a boring night. He will take first shift, driving around to see if any eyeballs on them, then watch from the Jeep. Bethany Anne checks with TOM for additional information about Mark. Finds his real name is Ronald Warden. Has less than $37,000 under Warden, has over $3 million in securitues, $1/2 mill cash under Mark. Wants any info on illegal criminal contacts, mental problems, sue for sole custody of children.
Chapter 06
Rafael, Wayne and Ben arm up to do a B &E on Cheryl’s house, roughing up the kids a little if needed. A bat, and their fists would be enough. John approaches them, offers them two choices. Let him whip them, or open the door and be killed. John knocked Rafael out with the bat, broke Wayne’s wrist when he pulled his gun, Ben ran into Bethany Anne in her vampire guise. Bethany Anne verified that these were the same assholes from earlier. Yes. Bethany Anne offered Cheryl Lynn a job on the Base, school for the kids (Tina a budding genius?) Bethany Anne respected that Cheryl had come outside with a knife, to defend as best she could, even though she had been scared. She wasn’t going to let John go down without getting involved. Besides, she’s family, and we don’t let family go down if they are fighting like hell to do the right thing. John and Bethany Anne went to Mark’s house the next morning, Bethany Anne to handle him. Promised John that Mark wouldn’t die, that she’d even leave him alive in his own bed. She’ll just scare the ever-living-hell out of him!
Chapter 07
Bethany approached him, laying in bed, as Mark, then Ronald Warren, then as his worst nightmare. Bethany Anne vamped him (eye, fangs), then took him into the Etheric. Before he got out, he agreed to provide $1 ½ mil to Cheryl Lynn to divorce him. He will behave, or ADAM will gift all of his money to Charities. If still not behave, dumped in Etheric for good. The next morning,Cheryl Lynn and the kids go to the airport, in a limo. Cheryl Lynn trying to get her bearings, and is reminded that she isn’t in Kansas any more, and that her carriage awaits!
