He, too, was currently unemployed, and the two of them decide to form a company to "do things for the good of folks". Holds high standards of behavior and beliefs. Recognizes Molly for her leadership qualities, and supports her in all ways to develop those qualities. Considers himself her "trainer" as she develops throughout the book.
