TTVC 04/10 The Jotun Navy ships/technology.

Barnabas looked them over (the ships' qualalifications for battle) with his arms crossed. “They really took to technology, I’ll give them that. How, I have no idea. They’re aquatic. How did they learn electronics without killing themselves?” Shinigami replied, “Maybe they started millennia ago and lost thousands in the process.” She shrugged. “My guess is that they appropriated some technology and made some allies, and it all took off from there. You have to give them credit, though. Those ships are insane.”

The Jotun ships. They’re controlled telekinetically. Sort of. That’s the closest word for it.” Shinigami brought up some pictures on the display. “You see this? This is Admiral Jutfa. You see the admiral isn’t wearing a normal powersuit, right? Well, when they go into battle, they plug the captain of the ship into the ship and they control the whole thing—weapons, maneuvering, all of it. In extreme cases, they can network the tasks and put other people in control, but mostly, the captain just controls all of that at once. They communicate with the officers and operate based on that information. People get promoted in the Jotun Navy because they can manage a ship that big. An admiral can manage multiple ships at once. They just have really good multitasking abilities."

TVC 07/01 To participate in day-to-day life with other species, a Jotun must wear a mechanical suit fitted with a central tank that would hold the Jotun’s jellyfish-like body. They used the suits like others would use their bodies, but those in higher-end and more specialized suits were also able to send and receive messages, use weapons embedded in the suits, and scan people, machines, and objects. For a Jotun, surveillance and sabotage were not merely possible, but true dangers. This made the suits vulnerable. The Jotun government had extensive protocols in place to keep matters of state from being spied upon. Otherwise, the suits could be hacked to send all speech to a third party, or make the weapons malfunction, or track the Jotun’s movement.
