Ape-like. Swung by hands, carried things with back feet.(The Ubuara swung over to him using a series of holds on the ceiling ...). Have long tail. Can speak telepathically, without implants. Primate base. Enjoyed fruit juice. The Ubuara were unusually small compared to the majority of sentient species in known space.

The sprays of white hair (puffs) on her cheeks marked her as a female, and his sensitive eyes could pick up a faint brindled pattern in her sleek coat. (Aebura)

Growing up in the hive mind: At home, he (Leiguba) would have heard his younger sister murmuring to herself sleepily as she drifted off. Her thoughts at night were always cozy—what she’d had for dinner, the way her feet were tucked tightly against her to stay warm. His father liked to plan for the next day, and he was logical and precise. His mother drifted to sleep so quickly that all Leiguba felt from her were little moments of emotion from her dreams. His sister told him that his thoughts felt like wind through the trees on a summer night, a contemplative search through the day’s memories like a breeze rustling leaves.

The Ubuara were partially hive-minded; each had their own thoughts, and yet absorbed some of their group’s thoughts in a very particular way. They could pass information to one another without speaking, and not simply words but also emotions and images. They had been observed to absorb each other’s thoughts and make those thoughts their own, although they had also been known act individually. Only the Ubuara seemed to understand when either thing—group integration or independent action—might happen. There was an Ubuara language, half hand signals and half words, but it was rarely used—at least not out loud.. They tended to speak to each other mentally and learn the local language wherever they ended up in their travels. Gar did not like Ubuara. No business owner in their right mind did, especially not an overseer of High Tortuga’s mining industry. You could cut off their connection to the rest with a simple implant that transmitted a blocking signal—and of course, the cost of the implant was added to the worker’s contract, to be paid off with a few extra months of work. But maintaining the transmitters was simply One More Thing To Do… and the Ubuara tended to overreact when they were cut off from the rest of the group. It was just for a year. were unusually small compared to the majority of sentient species in known space.

TVC 02/1 Ubuara always looked for accord when they were making deals, which meant they were likely to compromise too much. Not good bargainers, in general. Aebura was shrewd at business though, n unusual trait.

TVC 02/7 Since the Ubuara could sense one another’s thoughts games of pure chance were the only games they ever played.
