Species: Luvendi

TVC 01/1 A Luvendi, unusual in appearance (was taller and paler than most). Dressed in robes, long-fingered hands. Wasn't cruel, like Lan. Was only the vice-overseer, an assistant of sorts to Venfirdri Lan, who had once run many mines on High Tortuga. Lan was cruel, and Gar always did his best to intervene when Lan’s actions might result in an uprising.

TVC 01/4 From planet Luvendan, watching the endless waves and listening to the hiss of the great beasts that circled their submerged homes. He had feared the Essekan all his life, and had fled Luvendan as soon as he had reached his majority. Barnabas' voice filled him with the same primal fear; that nothing he could do would protect him. There would be teeth and claws and the crushing black… This human was like the Essekan, and not only in its raw power—how could it do these things?—but in the fact that Gar knew he could not bargain with it.

TVC 01/6 For the first time in many years, Gar let himself wonder what his grandfather would have thought of who he’d become. The male had always been supportive of Gar’s studies and his efforts to get off Luvendan. He had died several years before Gar reached his majority, which had simplified things. Without him there, Gar never went back to visit. There was no one there he cared to see, and he imagined they felt the same way. Ambition was frowned upon on Luvendan. The ambitious few left, giving aliens a rather skewed perception of the Luvendi as a whole. The Luvendi out and about in the universe did not answer to their government and had no desire to go back or enrich their planet.

TVC 01/16 . He hated any type of insect. He always had. Someone had brought spiders to Luvendi aboard a ship, and they’d spread through the towers with unnatural speed.

TVC 02/1 PHYSIOLOGY Shinigami, investigating Gar's physiology: “Your physiology is quite interesting. Not only are your bones more brittle than those of other species, your skeletal structure is not well suited to walking on land. It supports the theory that the Luvendi did indeed evolve from marine mammals, even if it wasn’t on Luvendan.” Gar nodded as he got dressed. The history of the Luvendi was shrouded in mystery. His people now lived in submerged towers in the oceans that covered the planet Luvendan, but no one could remember how and when the towers had been built. He wasn’t good with chaos; no Luvendi were. Chaos was just another chance to get injured. There was a reason they spent so much time idle. They were too fragile to do much.

TVC 05/01 Tall and thin, he nonetheless had muscle tone that no other Luvendi in the universe could claim. Shinigami had modified him in the Pod-doc, increasing his bone strength—Luvendi were famously fragile—and increasing his healing speed and his reflexes, and enhancing his senses.

TVC 02/2 Gar had spent the last few weeks since Barnabas had saved his life thinking about what he wanted to do with his unexpected extension. He had learned the important lesson that some things were worth standing up for no matter the risk, and that he could no longer ignore the voice in his head that told him to do the right thing

TVC 03/2 LANGUAGE Although Gar had had a languagechip implanted in the process of his upgrades, he enjoyed languages, and used the chip as little as possible, until he started on English.Or, he had enjoyed it. Then he had discovered English, and learned a new meaning for the word “frustration.” The language had clearly been created by a sadist. Gar had never heard any language in which it was so easy to communicate poorly.

TVC 03/13 Gar fought a Hieto (armored body, tough), and turned himself into a legend. A Luvebdi who beat up a Hieto!

TVC 03/30 Gar os finally happy that someone is afraid of him! His day is made!

TVC 05/01 . Gar prided himself on being more cosmopolitan than most Luvendi, who were famously insular.
