Knows village life and farming, as well (crops crop storage, rotations, etc)

Mental Mage, telepathy, illusions (charging bear) , opium addict, because his mental magic wounds him (nose bleeds when he telecommunicates). Moxy makes him a potion, at end of book , which helps him cure his addiction. Can use long distance communications by mind (called Woodsman from jail, to bring horses, help.) Can talk to animals, Charlie (water, and rock candy!) Helped ram arrows through Astrid's chest when wounded, reset dislocated shoulder. Prides himself on stealth, evasion, surprise, and subterfuge. That's why he and the Bandits got along so well.
