TOM Kurtherians were slender, worm-like creatures, who had lived long enough, and controlled enough energy, to trade bodies during their lifetimes, so that they could live almost as long as they wanted. They would inhabit the body until tired of it, then transfer (sometimes by mouth), to a new one, simply discarding the old one. Their brains could be encased in a computer, and live off the Etheric, as TOM did,(He lived in a small capsule in Bethany Anne's body) and as Lilith was forced to do in the Boris Chronicles (she had been in the casing for thousands of years. Their physical bodies could be yanked out of their current shells, and killed, which was what Bethany Anne did with the Clan members she personally killed, if they weren't blown up. If and when a Kurtherian became tired of life in a body, they could, if their beliefs were strong enough, and they were deserving of it, Ascend to the pure spiritual plane, unencumbered in any physical way. TOM, in his Kurtherian life, had been a Priest, who helped people to transcend to that plane, which was why, in the transition of languages, he had beem called a "pilot", and everyone had assumed he was, indeed, in the transportation industry. When Bethany Anne found out the truth about him,(TKG 21/25), she asked him what kind of a body he would like if he ever left her. He postponed that conversation. (See TOM for more details).

BeliefsThe Seven wouldn't trap someone in a form that was not native to them, they would simply have killed them, and the five would have been even less likely to trap them in such form, being more likely to find some way to restrain them or put them in stasis. Extensive discussion on how Kurtherians treated insane, and people who wanted to be encased in computers

Phraim-‘Eh - German-like - LEATH - One of Clans of the Seven, separated into 5 sub-clans.

Tre’learth (T'sehmion - Anderle) - One of Clans of the Seven, Leopard Empress, their avatar on Earth. Plan to destroy TOM and his following on Earth.

There is confusion as to whether these are the individual leaders of the Seven Clans, or if they are leaders in only the Phraim-'Eh clan, as it was that clan that was directing the Leath in their confrontations. In Book 20, Tom states that This group has been reduced from eight to three. Whatever the interpretations, there were only three leaders left after Book 20, Toric, Levelot, and Var'ence.

Eight Leaders of the Phraim-'Eh Clan:

Terellet: Teret and Gorllet combined in one body to be Terellet: a 7th body, but there are eight leaders of the one clan (or sub-clan).

Torik: Third of the Seven

Levelot: First of the Seven

Behemo't: Second of the Seven

Zill: Fourth of the Seven

Chrio'set: Fifth of the Seven

Var'ence: Sixth of the Seven
