When Bethany Anne returned to Earth to pick up Michael, she commissioned a satellite protection system called the BYPS, the Baba Yaga Protection System, which would automatically detect alien intruders in Earth-space, and defend the planet with pucks. In the process of laying this system, there was a contact from an alien who refused to identify itself, except as a Kurtherian, and that it had information about the whereabouts of the Seven. It wanted to talk to the Exalted One, and was therefore transferred to Bethany Anne. However, Bethany Anne seemed not to relate well to her, and TOM interjected that perhaps he might be better able to communicate.

Bethany Anne agreed, and Tom and the alien had extensive conversations, in which a number of TOM's secrets were revealed. As the alien seemed to require a great deal of TOM's attention. As he was always absent from her mind when he spoke to the alien, Bethany Anne nicknamed the alien Glorious Pain in the Ass.
