Chicago businessman, city aristocracy, enjoys longer life from drinking vampire blood. Michael met him on flight from Chicago to New York, convinced him to renounce blood usage. Paul interested in Kerri, a werewolf, who had been a captive of Timmons in Old Denver. When Michael rescued her, he learned she had contacts in Chicago, and could get him on a flight to New York. On that flight, she introduced Michael to Paul, who was a blood user. Kerri was interested in Paul personally, and wanted Michael to convince him to reform. Paul wasn't all bad, so Michael gave him a chance, taking Kerri's word that she would vouch for Paul's rehabilitation, and that if he backslid, she would kill him herself. Paul also agreed to this.
