Lilah
DW01 Beyond The Frontiers/02. et al
Lilah, bartender in N2S2, full of advice, good advice. Always kept the drinks coming. Lilah watched Angie carefully. Her warm brown eyes and easy manner hid a keen sense of observation. She had seen enough heartbroken people come into this bar that she recognized the look. In her experience, there were three stages of heartbreak: shock, wallowing, and recovery.Took Angie bacvk to talk with, hear Tabitha's story about how she had handled Shin's death. She had learned that no matter how big or small an issue was, it was all-encompassing for the person who came into her bar to escape it. Lilah didn’t give any opinions on any of it. That wasn’t her role right now. Lilah was right that Tabitha was not done grieving this loss. In some ways, she had come to terms with the fact that she would never stop, but she did not fear that as much as she once had. People die in war, Lilah had said, and it was true. You became accustomed to it in a strange way, but Angie realized now that you never got over it. Lilah hoped that was the lesson Angie would take from the story.
