TVC 03/11 Ilia LYennai was the controlling figure for the Yennai Corporation, working under the auspices of her father, Koel Yennai. Uleq was her younger sibling (nine years), and was not as favored by their father as she had been. Even though Uleq might have been the inheriting male of the family, Ilia outshone him in cruelty, terrorist activities, in everything that would make a fearless leader for the Yennai group. The father had played him against her, training her so that she was to inherit, and would probably kill Uleq in the process ofn the transition, given their father's wishes.

The one problem with all of this was that Uleq, having spent more time in the "real" world, the Yennai world of business, banking, and illegal activities, had seen the rise of the humans, since they had crossed into their territory. He had seen Bethany Anne's policies in action, as Empress, had seen the capture and destruction of other businesses and corrupt planets, and had told his sister and Father that a great danger existed there, and that they should crush her before she got too strong. They didn't listen, thinking that they were already too strong, dealing from behind the shadows of corruption, vice, bribery and terrorism, to every even think that they might be destroyed, so they didn't listen to him. They totally ingored his warnings, and didn' meet up with the full strength of Barnabas and Shinigami until it was too late, on the grounds of their hidden bases.

And then they blamed him for their losses, and for having to flee for their lives.

Ilia and her Father DID escape Barnabas' wrath, and the final paragraphs of Sentinel carry the speech Koel made to Barnabas about how he was going to hunt him down torture him, make him watch all those he loved and worked with die, and would make Barnabas own death so horrible that he would pray to die sooner rather than later.

Ilia is not active in the early parts of the book, except as an influence on Uleq. She is a strong force in the final phases of the final battles, and Barnabas killed her, as judgement for her crimes, with a knife to her heart.
