The Direct Action Branch is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bad Company. It is a private conflict solution enterprise . It is the group who actually goes to the site of the incident, and settles the disputes there, if possible, or refers it back to Bad Company. It is the premier combat unit within the growing Federation. It has its own inventory of a ship, the War Axe, six shuttle pods to take people to and from planet to ship, a complete armory of weapons (its own "mech units (8) - one-person armored suits, the "tanks" of ground warfare, rail guns, missiles, drones, whatever is needed to do the job), fully enhanced personnel (Pod-doc enhancement), and a staff of experienced fighters, most of whom had come from Earth, survivors of the WWDE and the 150 years that followed. Many had had personal experience working with Bethany Anne on Earth, and were familiar with her philosophies and beliefs, upon which the Etheric Empire, and the Federation, were based.

Colonel Terry Henry Walton, and his wife, Char (Charumati), from Earth, were the in-charge leaders.

Marcie his second in command (wife of Kaeden), with Kaeden, their adopted son in charge of the armored suit units; their daughter Cory (human), their medic;

Kimber, their other daughter, in charge of the FDG unit (Force de Guerre), with tactical units comprised of werewolves (Pricolici, changlings), weretigers, and vampires (Forsaken), who were all best at small team surgical strikes behind enemy lines.

Ramses, Cory's husband, supported her in her healing activities.

Auburn, Kimber's husband, was the teams logistician, supporting all communications, supplies and miscellaneous activities.

Christina (Nathan and Ecaterina Lowell's daughter) a were/Pricolici, loved combat.

Timmons, husband of Sue (both werewolves, headed the were division, along with Shonna and Merrit (werewolves) and Aaron and Yanmei (weretigers).

Joseph and Petricia were the vampires (Forsaken), and Joseph could read minds, a VERY useful talent in any negotiations!

Many of these people could also enter the Etheric dimension mentally, to acquire useful information during battle (Timmons, Marcie, Cory, others)

The Crew of the War Axe is listed under "Vehicles", War Axe.
