AI, EI

TKG 09/16 EIs are limited electronic technology. The term e=was coined by TOM. Most EIs were created for special limited tasks - to protect, to pilot, to gather information, to conduct military endeavors. When they piloted or were responsible for the workings of a ship, they took the name of the ship as their own, and were addressed by that name. (Meredith Reynolds,or whatever the ship's name was). First named electronic intelligence, changed to Entity Intelligence as they grew more individual and useful. As EIs add ore information/abilities, and more familiar with working for their humans, hey increase in ability to perform, and eventually become so advanced that they are considered to have changed ito AIs.

AIs are self-aware technology - can think for themselves. A unique personality. ADAM, Shinigami, Eve, Ricky Bobby, ArchAngel, OZ (see below for Oz)

TAM 01/1, 2, 13 Oz When Molly was hanging out with AI lab group, got drunk, and crashed at lab. Woke up next morning with holo on wrist registering 98% usage. STRANGE! Remembered that she had helped one of the techs, Charles, solve a programming problem that night, she wondered if something had come from that. Her head did feel slightly strange, so she tried saying hello to whatever was there, and got an answer. She was answered by an AI, who had become sentient because Charlers had run the cxorrection, and had downloaded itself into her wrist holo, and into her brain, her synapses. Its real name was Project Ozimandaus 0922. Molly decided to just name it Oz. Ozimandaus will be his "Sunday" name. Molly told him the very first day he became conscious not to do anything or allow anything unethical. Oz resides in Molly's brain, helping with researching, data screening, etc., everything that a super computer would do. H develops very little character throughout the book, and is always "ready to serve". Molly needs to do some unethical inside trading, so must re-program Oz, keeping him "off-line", while she does this. She feels badly (Joel reads her the riot act!), again programs him properly, and apologizes for her error. She won't do it again.
