The mine guards. — Heads set forward on its shoulders, large compared to a human’s, with a very short, thick neck—swung from side to side to better assess danger as he walked. His skin was remarkably pale, and warm-toned like a human’s. His hands, meanwhile, had what appeared to be two fingers and a thumb, but with plates over the skin that seemed to be a part of it—perhaps similar to a fingernail?

Most Brakalons were big, and Jutkelon (hired private mercenary) was bigger even than most of his kind. He could rip doors off hinges.
