Percy, Captain
POH 01/4 Captain of Mayor Brundig's version of the Heroes Brigade. Called the Meadow Guard. Gray or black cloaks, green sashes across chest. Percy led them. Percy is suspicious of any advice given by anyone else but himself. He thinks he is the most knowledgeable person to defend the town, and that all others should show him that respect. Obviously, he's wrong. He is mentioned as a character 156 times in the book, without much respect shown for him.
In the final battles, he is taken over by Titannus, and, because Payetta does not know it is Titannus in Percy's body, allows him to get close enough to almost mortally wound her.

He does redeem himself finally by punching Titannus when both are in their own bodies, saving Payetta. He does admit he was wrong about the Brigade,

POH 01/31 The Mayor wants his Meadow Guard to join up with the Heroes, with Payetta to lead them, and Percy will probably accede, although he does not give his permission in this boo.
