SOM 01/2 Only one friendly with Abbey in the whole city, then, as became older apprentice, deserted her as well.
Apprentice storm caller to Harald, his mentor, who considers him ready to take Test.
Tends to think he's better at calling than he is (doesn't like to listen to advice, help). Can call up storms, seas easily (just touch staff to water, ask,
and the seas answer), has trouble calming them. Has apprenticed for twelve years, eyes beginning to turn the vivid blue-gree of the callers.

SOM 01/10 Assigned to Foggy Day, under Captain Roy. Gets anxiety attacks whenever leaving - did he take the right things? - had one night before Foggy Day left Holdgate. As Captain boarded, Dustin niticed no respect, all cameraderie, just "one of the boys". Captain Tor had said: it would be up to Dustin to bring some much needed glory to The Foggy Day. He was right.
Harald, had taught him only the weakest of Storm Callers spent more time than they needed to with the crew. Familiarity would take away the mystique of their station. A good Storm Caller needed to be aloof in his attitude and firm in his orders.

SOM 01/23 Dustin's idea of calling magic changing. Due to Abbey, he began to think that magic might come from inside. This, combined with a need to protect someone without sea water handy allowed him to connect to Earth, and began to call weather, water, etc., without actually touching sea water. Can now use his powers to produce effects by internal mental focus (staff touching wood, earth, whatever), only. More power than ever!.
