Benjamin's daughter, 19 years old when book opens. Shorter than most Holdgaters, but lean and strong.

Has lived in Holdgate, Kaldfell Peninsula, since she was three. Moved there from Arcadian Valley. Mother died in Arcadia, Benjamin brought her to Holdgate because he couldn't stay in Arcadia. Too painful. Has been an outsider her whole life - a foreigner, ridiculed, no friends except Dustin.
Works in shop with Dad, makes a good team with him. He has taught her to use a sword well, taking advantage of her slight build to be underestimated as to abilities. Wears a sword on her hip when she goes on deliveries to Storm Chaser Captains, who continually order helmets from their shop.

Cannot get any job on any ship, as she is an outsider, an Arcadian.

Doesn't want to use magic, as it would make her more of an outsider than she already is.

Enjoyed living in Holdgate, as she enjoyed the people and their attitude. They have a sense of joy in all they do - they work hard and they play hard!
