 When old vaults were being cleaned out on Level 5 of the Military Base in the Colorado Mountains, letter attached to the inside of the door, addressed "To the Base Commander" "On Your Honor. " appeared. Gen Reynolds goes down, collects letter. General Reynolds reads the letter of Honor, speaks with Michael, anticipates visit from him, from “The man who is going to tell you about the past, the future, and the vault.” General Reynolds calls Frank to verify validity of Debt. Long discussion. Agrees to meet with Michael. Talks to Tom Swenson re history of Vault 5, story of last 3 men interviewed. Died or insane. Military has only one who would fulfill all of Michael's requirements, Bethany Anne Reynolds. Will come to Base to interview with Michael

Dad learns she has only six months to live. Explains what the job will be about, working with Michael. Lots of history, vampires, Nosferatus, etc. Lance and Bethany Anne "go out on the town", for one last night. $32,000 worth.

 Bethany Anne and Michael go to Carpathian Mountains, Romania, to find space ship, with alien who had created Machael, so that the same transformation might be applied to Bethany Anne. COLD ! ! in the mountains! Michael considering going to sleep forever, leaving Bethany Anne to take over. Considered that she would be qualified if he were not there.

 Bethany Anne awakens in Pod, hears someone talking, starts to remember trip, mountains, etc.
 Alien talks to her, explains that he had done sloppy job on Michael, and had done better on her., that he was symbiotically attached and had created multiple connections with both her physical and neurological systems. She had been in pod only 15 minutes of her time, 179 days of earth's time. She realizes that he is actually a part of her, and cannot be exhumed - connected to her nervous system. Learns Michael is not there. Exits pod, begins to notice physical differences. Learns she is tapped into Ethereal dimension for energy, will not need as much food or water, very little blood, but it also could provide energy.

 Nathan (a werewolf) reads message in Los Angeles paper, “The Archangel has awoken! New cherubim has been picked and the land of the Gentiles will receive their due. Time to visit the promised land and take back what is ours! ", and knows that, as Michael's liaison with the world, he will have lots of work to do in the near future.
 Nathan receives call from Frank Kurns. Michael missing, Nathan needs to go and find new agent. Last contact with Michael was in Carpathian Mountains in Europe, so that's where Nathan should go to start. Nathan arrives in Brasov, arranges for trip to mountains to find Michael. Meets Ecaterina Romanov, who will guide him, and her brother, Ivan who will supply him. On second day of trip Nathan and Ecaterina attacked.

 Alexi (were bear, Ecaterina's uncle) hears Ecaterina, fight, comes roaring in to help, is shot in right shoulder, back left leg. third shot would have killed him, but shop heard from upper mountain, and were dead. Alexi goes to protect Ecaterina. Nathan attacks third wolf, as fourth wolf comes up to join fight. Now 1 vs. 2.
 Bethany Anne hears shots, one from sniper, transfers to sniper, (first Etheric transfer) kills him.(Needs energy, so eats/drinks from body) Goes down to fighting group. Nathan realizes Bethany Anne, vampire, had joined fight. Killed one were, captured other, (Algerian, head of the Pack) had both Nathan and were change back to human form. Took silver out of Nathan's and Alexi';s wounds, started to heal. Talks to Algerian, discovers that Petre, Stephen's second son, had sent the Pack to kill them. Sentenced Akgerian, to death because he had disobeyed her instructions to change back. Allowed Alexi to kill him, matter of honor.
